Studio 1859 was a church built in the eighteen hundreds. It was called Pleasant Valley Methodist Church & then became Pleasant Valley School. The building was in dire need of renovation & Wonder, Simplicity & Beauty In Portraits took on the challenge. As of now the building has gone through a great deal of renovation and is coming along nicely. Although not finished, our shooting room (where all the magic happens)is almost ready. Since the building is celebrating it’s 150th birthday, who better to help open our studio, then Santa Claus, himself.
Santa will appear each Sunday in November at Studio 1859. Our Santa Sundays are some of the most enjoyable sessions we have. Each family is given a half an hour with Santa to go over lists, enjoy cookies & milk, read books, play with some of our old toys & receive a gift out of Santa’s basket. Wonder, Simplicity & Beauty In Portraits will capture portraits throughout the 1/2 hour session. Some of the portraits are candid & others are posed. Each family have at least 10 beautiful portraits to view of their children with Santa. The sessions cost $50.00 per family, and you will receive a complimentary 5x7 print. Families can also order extra prints & custom Christmas Cards.
Sign up now for our Santa Sunday and be one of the first clients to enjoy capturing lifelong memories in our new studio.

Storybook Wedding......

This wedding was beautiful. When I arrived, I quickly walked around their grounds & for that it was simply breathtaking, from the flowers to their gazebo, it was perfect. The bride was beautiful, as all brides are, but I thought she had a special sparkle in her eyes that day. I have know the groom since we were kids, so it was nice to be part of their special day. The B&G thought of everything & the wedding went off without a hitch. I am sure they partied late into the night, & it seemed when I was leaving, everyone was just starting to have tons of fun. I will be working on your proofs soon, but enjoy your sneak peek!!!

Work on Studio 1859...
You will all be surprised to see how far the building has come since the last pictures I posted. It was depressing to go to the studio & see it without a floor & just tons of rocks to walk on. We all have decided it could only get better from there & it really did!!!

When my dad gets an idea in his head, he goes full force with the equipment to get it done. Lucky for us he owns Pine Bush Equipment and they have tons of equipment to sell or rent. The truck was rather impressive & the conveyor was able to move the pile of fill from the side & then it went into a window for the guys to move around. The excavator was loading the conveyor. A Hats off to Nannini & Callahan Excavating for bringing in their Telebelt Service truck! I thought it was a pretty cool day, in my opinion, but I didn't have to work inside like the guys did. Yikes!

Manual labor... since the large truck could only get into our far window, hubby, my brother, father, my nephews & some of their friends didn't seem to enjoy the wheel barrow races they were having :) They were all soaking wet by the end of the day, THANKS SO MUCH to all of you for your hard work. It was sweet off all of them to help us out!

This was the ABSOLUTE worst day of work for the guys here. It was over 90 degrees & they had to work extremely hard to get the fill into our crater looking floor :(

Our new concrete floor getting poured over the radiant heat that Merideth Plumbing put in for us. All babies on the floor will have warm booties while I am photographing them :)

This is where the bathroom & kitchenette will be in the large room of the studio. Heartwood Assoc. framed it out in no time flat.

Saft Electric has been helping us through the whole process & getting my kitchenette & floor outlets together here. The floor outlets will be so helpful to keep the toddlers from tripping on cords.

Paint By Numbers are unbelievable & in less then a week, the walls & ceiling were cleaned, scraped, spackled & painted. Every step since the hole in the floor, made the room look so much better, but this one put the icing on the cake for me. I was so impressed on how much better the room looks at this point. Thank you, thank you & once more, a great big THANK YOU for your help!!!!

I just had to show you the difference here of the ceiling. I was shocked to see how much better the ceiling looks now with some paint on it too!!!
As of today, most of the painting in my shooting room is finished, most of the sheet rock is hung for the bathroom & our flooring in the bathroom is installed. We are hoping to be ordering windows from a Marvin Windows representative to match what we have later today. Thank you to all of the people that have worked on Studio 1859 to get it to where it is thus far!!!

Harvest Fest
It was so nice to see all of my old & new friends at the Harvest Fest! It was a perfect day!!! Thanks for visiting my booth! I hope to see you all soon. Apple Fest, Oct. 4th, Warwick, NY is right around the corner. I hope to see some of you there as well!!

For all of you that missed Harvest Fest, here is a look at my booth & Santa enjoying the beautiful fall day.

Here is a photo of my Candy Cane Elves with Santa. I had two girls who commited to help, therefore I bought them special tights & comfy shoes to match their old dance ensemble & one that decided that day to help out. The blondy next to Santa is my daughter, her look alike twin is her best friend who throws me for a loop each time I see them from the back, & the red head is my niece. The girls handed out hundreds of Candy Canes to promote our Santa Sundays. Thanks for the help girls, you looked great.
