Outdoor Session with one of my favorite families...

Every year I look forward to taking new pictures of these 3. Ok, Ok, maybe we have a bond because we are family (their Great Grandfather & my Grandfather were twins) & this isn't the only time of year I get to see them, but their Aunt makes sure they get a portrait taken every year of them. We can see how they have grown, any changes like braces, Miss "B"'s new hair cut, etc. We always have something to laugh about & this year we went hiking for a different look. Since I am working on my studio & want to have a memory wall of old pictures of family, I am happy to tell you, these 3 kids will have plenty to share with their children & grandchildren, nieces & nephews :) I know their lives are important & people will be happy to show them off now & 50 years from now. I wish I could find a school picture of my grandfather & his siblings in front of the Studio in the 20's :( This is how important portraits are to me!!! Anyway, I will have the rest of their portraits up soon. Enjoy!

Our Soccer Team...

Every year I try to get something different for our soccer kids, this year I made a template for pennants. I can't wait until they come in & see how they look. We are winding down & planning our pizza party. Way to go!

SEN{10}R From Pine Bush...

This is my nephew's beautiful girlfriend. She came in for a traditional senior portrait with the black cape. My 10 year old whispered to me how pretty she looked & I will have to agree. I hope this is what you were looking for.

OMG...

This session reminded me of how much I love photography & taking pictures of kids. Mr. "J" is an AWESOME kid & his Golden Retriever was beautiful. I fell in love with this picture as soon as I took it, so I had to share. J & I went exploring the woods & he was happy to scout great places to take pictures. Thanks for the fun day "J". Enjoy your proofs :)

{SEN10R} Time!

THis girls eyes are the bluest eyes I have seen in awhile. She is a super great gal & we had fun with different outfits & poses. I hope she is happy with her sneak peek. The rest will be online soon for viewing. TTYS!

Satisfied Clients...

I have been out all summer looking for new clients, but the one thing I am always careful about is having a great relationship with my old clients too. I met this couple a few years ago. My youngest daughter was going into second grade & had struggled a bit in first grade. All I was hoping for was a kind, soft spoken teacher that would nature my daughter a bit. Well our prayers were answered!!! I started volunteering in her classroom & by the end of the year we had bonded enough to take some Trash-The-Dress photos for her & her husbands 1 year Anniversary. We had a great time that cool morning. I won an award with their romantic portrait & gave them 2 thumbs up for enjoying the moment & trying to forget how cold they really were. I was then asked to take some family photos for his side of the family. It had to be the warmest December day & they had some beautiful places to take nice family photos. We are lucky to keep in touch & were thrilled to hear they were expecting!!! When they called looking for a time to take maternity photos, I gave her a time I was holding open to watch a soccer game & pack for the Applefest the following day. I had booked most of my Saturdays for Fall, but this was important for me to get her in studio before she was too big or the baby was born. We had another great session, lots of laughs & some beautiful portraits for them to treasure forever. I want to thank them for trusting me with such important times in their lives. Thank you from the bottom of my heart <3

My favorite time of year...

For all of you that don't know me on a personal level, I love the month of October!! I love the color of the changing leaves, the cool fall weather, our wedding anniversary, watching all the little ones chase a soccer ball across the field Saturday mornings, & HALLOWEEN!!!!! I love to see the decorations, the purple & orange lights, going on spooky hay rides, dressing up & taking the kids Trick-Or-Treating!!! I think I have been a witch every year since my kids were born (unless we have a party & need to be a bit more creative). If you see me on the streets of Pine Bush on Halloween night, I will be the one under the crooked witch hat :) I can't get enough of it & this year Halloween is on a Saturday - BOOOOOOO!!!!!!! So I had to change the looks of my blog if it is only for the month. I couldn't stop finding great music to go along with my theme either. I have 30+ songs on my play list & could probably find 30 more in a heartbeat. Each season I try to find music that reminds you of some theme show you enjoyed when you were young, I pick songs that kids might enjoy, new & old music as well. Go through the list, some of them will leave a smile on your face. I want to wish you all the spookiest Halloween ever!!

Happy 70th B-Day!!!!!

A good friend that I went to high school with contacted me to take family portraits for his mothers 70th birthday. We planed on taking some fall photos outside, however the weather had another idea for us. I have taken plenty of large family photos, but never inside my tiny studio. Plan B, I decided to use my new, unfinished studio to accommodate his family. They arrived at 1 & I was all set up, to bad I didn't think about extra chairs for all the people, the bathroom was not finished & they were all starving by the time they left around 4. I am really sorry about that & assure you that once my kitchen is installed, I will have snacks on hand when we are waiting for extra family members to arrive. All & all, I did get plenty of great photos of everybody & every possible combination of them, plus head shots, siblings, grandsons & granddaughters, etc. I did have photos of the studio, but had to erase them when I was at 400+ & knew I still needed to take more photos when everyone arrived. Enjoy the few I posted & I will be uploading the rest soon. Thanks for christening my new studio!!

Wonder, Simplicity & Beauty In Portraits proudly announces

Studio 1859 was a church built in the eighteen hundreds. It was called Pleasant Valley Methodist Church & then became Pleasant Valley School. The building was in dire need of renovation & Wonder, Simplicity & Beauty In Portraits took on the challenge. As of now the building has gone through a great deal of renovation and is coming along nicely. Although not finished, our shooting room (where all the magic happens)is almost ready. Since the building is celebrating it’s 150th birthday, who better to help open our studio, then Santa Claus, himself.

Santa will appear each Sunday in November at Studio 1859. Our Santa Sundays are some of the most enjoyable sessions we have. Each family is given a half an hour with Santa to go over lists, enjoy cookies & milk, read books, play with some of our old toys & receive a gift out of Santa’s basket. Wonder, Simplicity & Beauty In Portraits will capture portraits throughout the 1/2 hour session. Some of the portraits are candid & others are posed. Each family have at least 10 beautiful portraits to view of their children with Santa. The sessions cost $50.00 per family, and you will receive a complimentary 5x7 print. Families can also order extra prints & custom Christmas Cards.

Sign up now for our Santa Sunday and be one of the first clients to enjoy capturing lifelong memories in our new studio.

Storybook Wedding......

This wedding was beautiful. When I arrived, I quickly walked around their grounds & for that it was simply breathtaking, from the flowers to their gazebo, it was perfect. The bride was beautiful, as all brides are, but I thought she had a special sparkle in her eyes that day. I have know the groom since we were kids, so it was nice to be part of their special day. The B&G thought of everything & the wedding went off without a hitch. I am sure they partied late into the night, & it seemed when I was leaving, everyone was just starting to have tons of fun. I will be working on your proofs soon, but enjoy your sneak peek!!!
